Bagshot Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Street Party 3rd June

Bagshot Jubilee 12Bagshot is holding another of it’s fantastic street parties to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The party is on Sunday 3rd June from 2-6pm and the whole High Street is being closed (parking behind the Co-op).

As well as tables and chairs for people to eat at there’ll be a whole host of great attractions including face painting, a raffle, photography sessions, jewellery, cupcakes, children’s rides, May pole dancing, a nostalgic ice cream van, fashion show, three music stages with live bands, charity stalls, lots of food and drink outlets including street barbecues and lots more. The event will open at 2pm with a special musical surprise.

Camberley boy meets Ant & Dec

Numan Ant and DecI’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here presenters Ant & Dec recently attended a celebrity charity golf event at Fox Hills Golf Club in support of Caudwell Childrens Charity.

5 year old Numan Milton-Tomkins from St Paul’s area of Camberley has Cerebral Palsy and is supported by Caudwell was invited to the event to meet Ant & Dec and a lots of other celebrities.

Numan’s family are trying to raise enough money to send Numan to the USA to receive Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy which would help him walk.

There are several events planned to help raise the money needed for the treatment including a sponsored walk organised by the parents at Sandringham School.

Infantry Golf Championships hosted at Pine Ridge – Photo blog

Infantry Golf Championships 2012 - Pine Ridge Golf ClubPine Ridge Golf Club played host to the British Army Infantry Golf Championships.

88 serving soldiers from the British Army travelled from all over the world to play at the competition.

The two day event is an annual competition with winners going on to represent the Infantry in the Armed Forces Championship.

The organisers of this event are so impressed with Pine Ridge Golf Club that they have already booked next year’s event to be hosted at the Camberley Golf Club again.

Pine Ridge Sales Manager Sarah Heath said “It has been a real privilege to host this event. The lads have had a great time and so have we. They are all such great guys and knowing how well they all serve our nation, it is wonderful to see them having fun. We are really delighted that the organisers have chosen Pine Ridge Golf Club to host this event next year”.

Scam alert – Indian restaurant loyalty card blag

Surrey Police 101 - Surrey Residents NetworkI have received several reports today from reliable local residents who have been called by an 0121 number by someone claiming to represent an Indian restaurant on the London Road.

They are offering a loyalty card for £25 which would entitle the bearer to free food at the restaurant for a whole year if you pay on your credit card over the phone.

This is obviously a scam. Never give your credit card details over the phone unless you know the company are reputable.

When the resident called the number on their caller display, it returned a number not recognised.

Many of the VOIP ( Voice over Internet Protocol ) services such as Skype and Vonage will display a number such as an 0121 number.

If you think about it, with VOIP and Google Maps it would be easy for overseas criminals to target people in this way.

Should you receive a call like this, please hang up and call the Police non Emergancy number on 101.
