Detectives in Guildford are appealing for information following an arson attack on a car parked on a driveway in Camberley at the weekend.
A Robin Reliant was burnt out as a result of the incident in the Watchetts area in the early hours of Sunday morning (17 June) and a second car, a green Kia, parked behind it, was also extensively damaged. The fire, which happened sometime between 1.15am and 1.45am, further damaged the guttering of a detached garage on the plot in the Frimley Road area.
Detective Constable Mark Fordham investigating said: “This was a deliberate attack on a car which was parked outside a resident’s home. The fire spread to cause extensive damage to another vehicle and indeed to the house itself. It is lucky that the fire was contained and prevented from spreading. Someone could have been injured as a direct consequence of such a mindless act of vandalism.
“I am urging anyone who has information which might help officers locate the offender and bring them to justice, to call Surrey Police as a matter of urgency. If you can help please call 101 quoting reference SH/12/2333.”
