Was disappointed I could not get into the meeting at Deepcut community hall, however this shows the strenght of feeling in the area, which was a postive.
Infrastructure road etc plans are inadequate as the roads will be congested. these have been glossed over, and the residents will be left to the congestion, developers/council are skimping deliberately to save their own costs, Not acceptable
There is no need to rip down trees to create building land and to dig up a tarmaced area to build trees- just build on the tarmac area, Use the money to build road facilities.
1200 houses is way, way too many to add to this area, and is pure greed on the part of the developers
There is no need for a gypsy traveller facilities, this further congests the area, is likely to give rise to health and safety issues, neither do any of the residents I have talked to see any need for one in the vicinity. (I include myself in that)
I totally agree. Also, having attended Frimley Park Hospital on the 15th February at 08.30 and been hard pressed to find a parking space then,at that hour, how on earth are all the extra people going to be treated,if they need referral to a very small hospital set up?

As a driver for Camberley Care, I frequently have to take elderly and infirm to the hospital. My worst nightmare is to take a client to Frimley Park Hospital in the afternoon. Just getting to the hospital entrance to drop the client off is a nightmare. Parking is not only difficult nearly impossible after two o’clock. Additional referrals will create a complete breakdown in the hospital.
Sending patients to Guilford will not solve the problems of patient treatment. That has a similar parking problem as does St Peters!
Maybe a new hospital is required for the Surrey Heath Area designed with adequate parking.
1. Proposed travellers site – no need for one and don’t want one. There is not one now and so why do SHBC suddenly want one? If there is to be one, where proposed, people will not want to buy houses in the area and who would want to live in a care home next to the site? If there does have to be one, put it out of the way i.e. where originally proposed.
2. Road junction at Old Bisley Road & Maultway/Deepcut Bridge Road needs improvement now – let alone after all of the extra traffic is generated. Roundabout is needed to slow approaching traffic and allow safe passage onto Deepcut Bridge Road.
Just heard about this and feel it is totally outrageous to even think of putting a Travellers site in Deepcut.
What is the point of trying to buy a home and struggling to pay mortgages?…….we may as well all live in caravans!
Because that is all this area will be worth if this is allowed! Absolutely ridiculous………put them on a site out in the middle of nowhere
where it will not affect private households! and not to mentioned the above reasons too!
I am very concerned about the planned site for travellers, I feel it will detract from the area, cause house prices to fall, along with many other problems a travelling community brings. It is a well known fact where a site has been before the house prices fall, especially for those living closest to it, along with all the other problems of rubbish, bad behaviour and dogs.
I have a major issue with a relocation of the proposed travellers site to the north of Dettingen park- this presents a major opportunity for the site to spill over onto adjacent free ground and also increases the potential for traffic in the vicinity, plus a travellers site invariably impacts the value of all homes in the region. Why do we even need to have one- there is no site in Deepcut at the moment, what is the rationale at all?
My husband and I are concerned that there does not seem to be any provision for widening the bridge over the canal which is single lane. The only provision we can find is the proposal to put traffic lights in place. Surely this will create traffic jams.
We are also concerned about secondary schooling – Tomlinscote is full to the brim – what are the future plans – will catchment areas be redrawn? Will children from Deepcut have priority for a place at Tomlinscote?
Several residents also challenged the AMEC representative who advised that the study was based on one hour between 9-10am.
He stated that after 30 experience in highways planning that he was prepared to stake his house on the proposals being adequate.
It seems he needs better local experience. Most residents including our MP know that just the current proposals are not adequate for the traffic flows and a more detailed study will be required and better improvements will be necessary. The failure to adequately to do this puts the whole re-development in jeapody and it needs immediate attention before the planning application is presented.
The infrastructure plans are totally inadequate as far as traffic density on local roads is concerned. The plans show numerous road junctions where it is acknowledged there is a problem yet only three revisions have been submitted. The worst of which is the redesign of the Red Road/ Maultway roundabout which gives even greater priority to traffic coming from the development. The volume of traffic that will turn right at that point to go to the Lightwater bypass will make the two exits from Lightwater village onto Red Road impassable . They are now at that state in rush hours. I would like to know under ‘Freedom of Information’ what traffic densities were recorded at that junction and at what time of day.
