Krooner Park played host to Camberley’s first beer festival on Friday & Saturday.
Organised by the Camberley Town Supporters Club the festival had a number of breweries offering real ales.
The event was in support of two charities, Help4Heroes and the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
On Friday night Club Chairman Ronny Wilson handed over a cheque to Help4Heroes for £1000 which was the money raised on the first day of the festival. I have not been updated with Saturday’s money raised for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice but ill report that as soon as the supporters club send me the info. If day one is anything to go by, I am sure they will have raised a nice sum for the hospice.
While visiting the beer festival I made a rather serendipitous discovery. Camberley has its very own brewery. Ascot Ales are producing real award winning ale right here in Surrey Heath. Chris Gill has invited the Residents Network to the brewery to record a video blog so keep an eye out for that.
The organisers of the beer festival said that it was a huge success and want to make it an annual event. That’s great news and I am sure it will become a firm favourite with residents.
