Recently the playground at Sandhurst Memorial Park has had additional equipment installed which further enhances the great play facilities provided at the park.
The play equipment for younger children is enclosed by a fence with two entrances. This means it is ideal for giving younger children some independence to play alone or with other children, though they do still need close supervision to avoid injuries or quick escapes! The children I took to the park loved the sandpit play section which includes two structures to climb and crane type scoops to transport sand from the bottom to the top, where it can then be poured down a tube. They also loved rolling down the grass hill towards the rear of the playground area. Brought back memories of rolling down hills when I was little.
Sandhurst Memorial Park covers an area of 28 hectares including places to go for a nature walk, a large ball games field, a skateboard park, pond with a platform for close up feeding of the ducks. There is a large free carpark (map) which can get very busy as this is a popular park. There are toilet facilities opposite the playground near to Sandhurst Memorial Hall.
Whenever I visit the park I like to get a coffee from The Coffee Spot, the park’s café which is run by Sandhurst Churches Together. It’s a great place to get ice cream on a hot summers day as well as drinks and snacks.
If you are looking for somewhere to take your children this summer and haven’t yet been to Sandhurst Memorial Park, I highly recommend a visit. It may not be in Surrey Heath but it is in one of our neighbouring authority areas.
If using a SatNav, this postcode is fairly close GU47 9BJ (Yorktown Road, Sandhurst)

I took my daughter this park last week. I totally agree that this park is well worth a visit. Take a picnic too, great facilities such as picnic benches or lots of open green space to spread out a picnic rug.
Great post Nick
