Camberley wedding photographer Tony Hart is giving the dedicated aviation photographers a run for their money with some stunning images from the airshow build up.
I found Tony’s images through Twitter and decided to contact him to find out a little more about his work.
Tony has been a full time photographer for about 3 years and does mostly wedding photography.
He also shoots a lot of sport, particularly for Royal Holloway University but also other work such as portraiture and band promo work. When he is shooting for himself he loves, landscape photography.
His very first airshow was at Biggin Hill when he was eight and has been hooked ever since.
Tony explained to me that Aviation photography presents certain challenges. For instance Shooting prop aircraft is much tougher than fast jets because they require a slow shutter speed to allow the props to appear blurred rather than ‘still-framed’.
One of his own favorite shots from the Airshow build up this week was this one of the A380.
Tony has been at the airfield all week and watched F22 validate which he said was amazing to watch for its raw power. He also loved the C27J Spartan as it turns on a dime and “the pilots are brilliantly bonkers”.
Of all the aircraft he has ever shot, the B2 Spirit stealth bomber
was probably the pinnacle for Tony. He explained that “This amazing aircraft flew all the way from Whiteman AFB in Missouri, non-stop to RIAT, did a flyby escorted by two F15 Eagles and then flew home”.
Tony has a 2010 Farnborough Airshow gallery so check out all of his superb images. He will be adding more throughout the show.
