St Barbara’s Church

DeepcutChurchRecently there has been quite a lot of noise about the future of St Barbara’s church. The church was erected in 1901 and is a battlefield church which is designed to be (kind of) portable. This means the army could take it with them when they move.

From informal discussions I have had with local residents, it is very clear they would like the church to stay when the Army leave Deepcut. There are practical issues to overcome if the church where to remain. For one, who would fund it?
